Our new super curly koa is a master grade Hawaiian Koa that was salvaged from the slopes of Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. Amazing flames and figuring! Just wow is all we can say!
All Hawaiian Koa products made by Thalia come with our Hawaiian Koa Reforestation Commitment. $5 from the sale of each Capo or Phone Case goes directly towards planting and maintaining new Koa trees in Hawaii.
We offer this koa in three different stained colors: Vintage Blonde, Kentucky Bourbon & Kona Coffee
By staining this amazing curly koa, we are creating close matches to other woods found in fine guitars. Blonde is our match for vintage maple and Kona Coffee was stained to match Indian Rosewood. We hope you choose our curly koa and help us in our sustainability mission.
When sunlight or any direct lighting source hits this curly koa it glows. Shown from left to right: Kona Coffee, Kentucky Bourbon, & Vintage Blonde.
Without any direct light this Curly Koa takes on a darker appearance. Shown from left to right: Kona Coffee, Kentucky Bourbon, & Vintage Blonde.
Sometimes video is the only way to see the true magic of this wood. Here it is in all of its glory.
What can I say other than delighted? A fantastic product that looks every bit as good as it works. I cannot recommend this product enough! I chose the materials to complement those on the guitar and I’m so pleased I did ( Chrome to match the tuning machines, Indian Rosewood to match the side & back of guitar with the element to match the fretboard). Aside from being an excellent design, a joy to use and superbly made, the Capo also looks as if it were OEM, I have had many positive comments from others - naturally I am pointing them in the right direction! Thanks Guys for a superb product.
Where else can you go to customize a capo to the degree of a Thalia? And to boot....great functionality and ease of use. Highly recommended.
Capo's come and Capo's go...until Thalia broke the mold!
I have had rubber capos, cloth covered capos, bad ones, really bad ones, and ones that at the time I thought were good...but when I started using Thalia I realized for the first time that even the good ones were bad by comparison.
There has never been a capo like this, and frankly until someone invents one that just appears when you press a button...this will be the only capo worth having. It is PERFECTLY fitted for my guitars, both 12 and 6 string versions. I still can't believe that i can slide it down the neck from the 7th fret down to the 3rd fret between songs, and IT DIDN'T CAUSE MY GUITAR TO GO OUT OF TUNE!!!
Aside from all of that above, that you have most likely heard about from other musicians...the beauty of it, and the weight of it, just screams Quality! My first Thalia was black chrome with Wenge wood on the front, which matched my Wenge wood Guitar neck, built for me by Robert Gage. Great guitar, and this capo made it even sweeter! My second Thalia was for my 12 String Guitars, a Guild and a 68 Ovation. Once again, the Thalia capo is AMAZING!! I love the gold and hypnotic Blue Abalone. Currently my favorite. I had purchased a third capo, and I sent that to a close friend of mine (Davy Lees), a well known guitarist in Scotland. He has written me with praise for that Thalia Capo.
I can't thank you guys enough with the size 12 brains for coming up with these capos, but i wish you all the best and continued success. PLEASE KEEP MAKING THEM and save musicians who think they are still using good capos before trying one of yours! Slainte!!
Superb build quality! Looks amazing! Functions amazing! Wood grain matches perfect. I am proud to display this capo with my Martin!
To achieve a perfect fit, the Thalia Capo comes with multiple interchangable fretpads so that you can match the fretboard radius of your specific instrument. The following table lists common fretboard radii used by major manufacturer. If you do not find your specific brand and model below you can Google your guitar make/model plus the words "fretboard radius"; if that doesn't work you can use the manual method which is described here
Please Note: 12-String & 8-String Guitars should use our High Tension OctaveTouch fretpads to get the best performance. Standard Tension and High Tension Rubber fretpads are included with every capo. Our Teflon fretpads will likely not work on instruments with octave strings. size chart guide fret board
