Save the Honeybee Commitment
We owe much to the bees. Globally there are more honey bees than other types of bee and pollinating insects, so it is the world's most important pollinator of food crops. It is estimated that one third of the food that we consume each day relies on pollination mainly by bees, but also by other insects, birds and bats. We feel like we need to do something and we recently came across an exciting research initiative that is actively solving some of the biggest issues facing honeybees. So we want to team up with you to help fund this research!
This particular research group at Washington State University was chosen as it has already proven to make significant strides in solving many of the major health issues affecting Bees. We are big fans of Paul Stamets, and his approach of using mushrooms and mycelium to solve bee health problems with natural methods. Please join us in our partnership with Host Defense to Save the Bees!
The Tiger Rye matches perfect with the headstock of my guitar as seen on the photo. This capo looks great and works perfect for my need used as a partial capo.
My Thalia Angel Wing Capo arrived in a sturdy plastic box, such as might house a quality wristwatch. Included was a full set of rubber fretpad inserts, designed to match the radii of various fingerboards. These inserts snap it and out with ease, and there are standard and high tension versions of each. Also included was an instructional booklet, a silk pouch for the capo, and one of Thalia's wooden guitar picks.
The capo can be positioned 'treble side' --the capo sliding upward onto the neck, or 'bass side' --the capo sliding over the top of the neck. I prefer the 'bass side' positioning; perhaps this has something to do with me being left-handed. Either way, the Thalia capo is moved quickly up and down the neck without really having to change the fretting position of the fretting hand. I am pleased to find my guitar not being pulled slightly sharp, as has been the case sometimes with other capos. The included fretpads should accommodate all of my guitars, but I look forward to trying some of the other available inserts, such as the 'sliding', which Thalia claims can be used to musical effect.
My Thalia Angel Wing Capo is an impressive piece of engineering. Not a trace of wobble anywhere on this thing; it feels like it will be the last capo I'll ever have to buy. Having said that, there are so many beautiful inlays available, I am tempted to buy a couple more!
I absolutely adore this capo. This is my second that I have purchased from Thalia and I love both of them. I stumbled across this beauty and just had to buy it, even though I was not in the market for another. I have been purchasing from Thalia for a couple of years now and they have become, and will remain, my go-to guitar outfitter.
This is an incredible piece of kit. Thalia have worked hard with Gibson to produce a magnificent capo worthy of the brand that seamlessly compliments the aesthetic while adhering to the fret board like a glove. I'd read that they were addictive in that you want to match every guitar you own. I'm already up to two, I bought a third for a friend and see many, many more in my future. The only reason the wood doesn't match 100% is because my guitar is 20+ years old and has faded over time.
To achieve a perfect fit, the Thalia Capo comes with multiple interchangable fretpads so that you can match the fretboard radius of your specific instrument. The following table lists common fretboard radii used by major manufacturer. If you do not find your specific brand and model below you can Google your guitar make/model plus the words "fretboard radius"; if that doesn't work you can use the manual method which is described here
Please Note: 12-String & 8-String Guitars should use our High Tension OctaveTouch fretpads to get the best performance. Standard Tension and High Tension Rubber fretpads are included with every capo. Our Teflon fretpads will likely not work on instruments with octave strings. size chart guide fret board
