Thalia Magnesium Slides

Thalia Magnesium Slides are made via a collaboration with MagSlide, makers of fine magnesium slides. We were planning to design our own slide from scratch when we came across the father & son team at MagSlide. We loved their design and story so much that we decided to partner with them to create a new Thalia version which includes an exotic wood & shell inlay. We think you will love these slides as much as we do!

Our MAGNESIUM slides are made by MagSlide and sent to our California studio where we carefully inspect each slide for quality and then install fine wood and shell inlays to order.

OUR STORY

One day in 2010 as 8-year old Thalia Bradley was playing guitar, she gazed up at the poster of Taylor Swift on her bedroom wall. Taylor was holding a beautifully inlaid Hawaiian Koa Taylor guitar. As she focused on Taylor's guitar, she had a big idea.

Thalia was using a capo that day, but as she stared at the poster she envisioned a much more beautiful capo for Taylor, one that would perfectly match her Hawaiian Koa Taylor guitar. That was the seed of an idea that would ultimately lead to the invention of the Thalia Capo.

For Thalia's father Chris was an inventor and guitar player and he loved Thalia's idea, but he also thought the capo could be redesigned to make it much easier to use. They went to work and some 70 prototypes and four years later it was ready.

The "reverse action" design of the new Thalia Capo makes it easy to apply with just the fretting hand using the same pinching action as a barre chord. And of course it also features exotic wood and abalone shell inlays, just as Thalia had imagined.

Excellent Slide That's Worth the Money

I'm a beginner when it comes to slide playing, but after trying a few cheaper metal slides I really appreciate how good this magnesium slide is. It's super lightweight and comfortable. The inner ridges keep it on your finger. The sound is not quite as bright as a chrome steel slide and not as mellow as glass. It's right in between and will be a go-to for many years to come. And it's nice to look at too. Definitely worth the money.

Abalone Capo

I just bought my 4th capo from Thalia. I have also purchased a slide, 2 truss rod covers one which is custom you’ll see in the photo, and some picks. All their products are beautiful and so easy to use. The truss rod cover and capo really enhance my Guild D-55. The capo is accented in gold which matches the tuning keys. Big Fan of Thalia!!

Great slide, completes the set

This is a very nice slide, sounds nice and comfortable to use. I don’t play a lot of slide but really wanted it to complete my set, capo, flask and truss rod cover. Beautiful functional art.
